FAIRFIELD — The Cordelia Library has a variety of children's activities during May, starting with the opportunity to meet illustrator Priscila Soares and create art on May 7. "Priscila Soares is the illustrator of three books, including 'Cesaria Feels the Beat.' She will bring this vibrant story to life for families by diving into the creative process behind the illustrations and offering a behind-the-scenes look at how Cesaria’s colorful world came to be," library organizers said in a statement.
The event begins at 2 p.m. It is for children 5 to 10.
Free books will be given away while supplies last. "This appearance will include an art session – we'll make colorful masks – as well as discussions about the themes included in the book such as self-empowerment, deafness and our hearing differences and the celebration of carnival." Learn more about Soares at www.
