Bryan-College Station under tornado watch until 8 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for much of the eastern half of Texas including Brazos County.

The National Weather Service Houston Bureau has issued a tornado watch for Brazos County and 28 other counties across the eastern half of Texas until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The NWS Houston Bureau is predicting severe storms for the eastern half of Texas the rest of Wednesday as a front moves through. These storms could include large hail, damaging wind and the possibility of a brief tornado. Low-lying areas also could see minor street flooding.



Brazos County will remain in a tornado watch until 8 p.m. Other local counties included in the tornado watch are Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Milam and Washington.

As far as the chances of rain goes, the Houston bureau expects a 70 percent chance of rain in the evening and overnight hours in Bryan-College Station. Thursday has a 30 percent chance of rain in the day, much of that expected before 7 a.m.

Thursday evening the rain chance drops to 20 percent. Friday is expected to be rainy with a 70 percent chance of rain for Friday afternoon and 60 percent on Friday night..
