MYRTLE BEACH — More than a year after a fire closed Burky’s Grill , the popular '50s-style burger joint is ready to reopen. The Myrtle Beach restaurant plans to welcome back customers on May 1, according to a post on the diner's Facebook page. “We’re BACK, Burky’s Family!” the post stated.
“We can’t even put into words how much we’ve missed you. Your love, support, and patience carried us through, and we are proud to say that most of our crew is returning too.” In December 2023, a fire broke out inside the North Kings Highway restaurant .
No one was injured but the restaurant, especially the kitchen area, sustained extensive damage. The restaurant has long been popular with locals and tourists, and social media has been buzzing about its return. Burky's menu has typically consisted of classic diner fare: burgers, hotdogs, shoestring fries and Cincinnati-style chili.
The restaurant will be open daily from 11 a.m. until 10 p.
