Cab driver, 40, kidnapped and murdered in outskirts of Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A 40-year-old cab driver was kidnapped from the outskirts of Bengaluru and later found murdered near Kabbalu, Kanakapura, in Ramanagara district Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Chandrashekar, a resident of Chikka Byalakere on Hesaraghatta Road, north Bengaluru. 15am while stepping out to have tea at a nearby stall. His body was discovered later that afternoon by farmers in an agricultural field at Arekattedoddi village near Kabbalu. Initially, police were unable to identify the body.



However, by evening, they confirmed it was Chandrashekar after his mother filed a kidnapping complaint with Soladevanahalli police. She mentioned that several eyewitnesses had seen a gang abduct him in a car. Police said the attackers had slit Chandrashekar's throat.

A senior officer stated that Sathanur police have registered a case of murder. Since the abduction occurred within Soladevanahalli police limits, officials are considering whether the case needs to be transferred. CCTV footage along the route to Kabbalu is being examined to gather leads on the suspects.
