The start of Caitlin Clark's second preseason in the WNBA is just days away, as she and the Indiana Fever look to make a deep run in the playoffs. While Clark and her team are ramping things up ahead of Saturday's preseason game against the Washington Mystics, she had an eventful offseason. Clark's No.
22 was retired at the University of Iowa, she was featured in a new Nike campaign and caught some Butler Bulldogs games to support her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, who is on the staff. On top of all that, she attended the 2025 Masters tournament at Augusta National. An experience she was asked about on Monday that led to her revealing it was a bucket list sporting event.
In addition to revealing how awesome of an experience it was, Clark also showed support for the course's strict no-phone policy."That was really fun," Clark said. "I think the aspect of nobody having their phones, like that was really cool.
Like people have to come up and be like 'Hey.' Like you actually have a conversation with people that you like. So that was really fun.
You don't want your phone either like you're just sitting there enjoying...
you're enjoying the sport."Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark reacts after a play.Mark J Rebilas-Imagn ImagesShe also touched on how special it was to watch the finish of the tournament, which saw Rory McIlroy secure his first Masters victory in a sudden-death playoff against Justin Rose.
"I think sitting on the 18th green Sunday at the Masters is like one of the coolest things ever," Clark added. "Like everybody's watching the leaderboard change in real time and honestly with how that round played out. With how Rory (McIlroy) you know had a four-stroke lead then Just in Rose took the lead, then it was tied.
Getting to watch that on the leaderboard and then them come down to 18...
I don't know if anything will be able to top that."While there may not be more moments as a fan she can attend that will top that, winning a title of her own certainly may do the trick. According to FanDuel, Clark's Fever are tied for having the second-best odds (+350) to win the title this season.
They open the regular season on May 17 against the Chicago Sky at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.Related: Major Caitlin Clark Announcement Made on Sunday.
