Anyone intending to vote by proxy in the Cambridgeshire County Council and Mayoral elections must apply by Wednesday, April 23.
Local elections will be taking place in Cambridgeshire on Thursday, May 1, 2025. If people are unable to get to a polling station, they can nominate someone, (known as a proxy), to cast their vote for them. However, they will need have applied to vote by proxy by 5pm on Wednesday, April 23.
More information on how to apply is available on the district council’s website, and voters can find out more on the Electoral Commission website. On May 1, voters will have the opportunity to vote for their local County Councillor in Cambridgeshire and for the next directly elected Mayor for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. Voting is the way to shape the future of the community.
Important decisions about Cambridgeshire’s 2,784 miles of highways, 1,824 miles of footpaths, more than 200 schools, 33 libraries, and 8,304 adults who use the long-term adult social care and support services, are made by the county council. If you’re voting by proxy, you must apply by 5pm on Wednesday, April 23. Voting takes place from 7am-10pm on Thursday, May 1.
