Canada election: French-language leaders’ debate gets underway

The Latest The first leaders’ debate of the campaign has begun. Liberal Leader Mark Carney is likely to be a target, as his party continues to lead in the polls. The Greens were uninvited from the debate at the last minute because they aren’t running enough candidates to meet the criteria.

The debate starts at 6 p.m. ET and will be translated live on CBC News Network.
