Canada election: Major party leaders have arrived for French-language debate

The Latest Four major federal party leaders are meeting in Montreal for their first debate of the campaign. The event will be in French, with the English discussion tomorrow. Liberal Leader Mark Carney is likely to be a target, as his party continues to lead in the polls.

The Greens were uninvited from the debate at the last minute because they aren’t running enough candidates to meet the criteria. The debate starts at 6 p.m.
