Discarded sea vessels are the subject of a new film titled Free Boat To Go Home, which can be viewed free of charge on April 27, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Cannon Distillery in Charleston.

For months documentary filmmaker Jeff Phillips has been riding along with Wounded Nature-Working Veterans and documenting the abandoned boat problem and removal process. Along the way he interviewed a state representative, DNR officers, Charleston Police, Harbor Unit and members of the Coast Guard who volunteered their time on their days off to assist. He even interviewed one of the individuals living aboard one of the derelict non-running boats downtown.



Many of the individuals in this documentary will be in attendance, along with Rudy Socha of Wounded Nature, all of whom be viewing this documentary for the first time Children are welcome and a food menu will be available..
