Car struck by lightning while driving on I-69 in Delaware County

When fire crews arrived on scene, they found a SUV with heavy fire damage due to the lightning strike.

DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. — A c ar was struck by lightning while driving on Interstate 69 in Delaware County Tuesday morning. The Yorktown Fire Department , Delaware County Emergency Medical Services and Gaston Volunteer Fire/EMS Department responded to I-69 on April 29 for a "medical emergency" after a vehicle was struck by lightning while driving on the interstate.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a SUV with heavy fire damage due to the lightning strike. 13News reached out to the Yorktown Police Department and they said that no one was injured. This is a developing story.
