BEREA — The Browns entered Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft with the first pick of the second round, and instead of trading down like Cleveland did in Round 1, the franchise stayed put and selected UCLA linebacker Carson Schwesinger at No. 33 overall on Friday, April 25. Below is our instant draft grade.
It would be absurd to render rapid judgment on what Schwesinger will be in the league. It takes multiple years to know how a pick will pan out. So this grade is more of an evaluation of Schwesinger's fit with the Browns and the team's strategy than the player's talent.

Like JOK, Schwesinger has established a reputation as a tackling machine.The 6-foot-21⁄2, 242-pound Schwesinger registered 163 tackles, including 11 for loss, with five sacks, a forced fumble, three passes defensed and two interceptions in 38 games, including 10 starts, at UCLA.
Schwesinger's 10 career starts came last season, when he led the Big Ten in tackles as a junior with 136. He also racked up 8.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, a forced fumble, three passes defensed and two interceptions in 2024.
