A stage adaptation of John Cleese's sitcom Fawlty Towers will be performed in Southampton in 2026. "Fawlty Towers - The Play" is set to tour the UK next year and will be performed at Mayflower Theatre from Tuesday, March 3 to Saturday, March 7. The production is based on three of Cleese's favourite episodes from the BBC show, The Hotel Inspector , The Germans and Communication Problems .
The show, which Cleese describes as "the greatest British sitcom of all time," first aired nearly 50 years ago. John Cleese said: "I’m thrilled with the top-class group of comedy actors that we've assembled for the UK tour of Fawlty Towers - The Play .
