Read More Days after his big win on Celebrity MasterChef, Gaurav Khanna recently took a trip down memory lane to reflect on his initial years in the industry when he shared the screen with Yami Gautam in a daily soap. The chemistry of the pair in the show Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam won the hearts of the audience, making them a fan favourite. Talking about their bond at that time, the actor revealed an interesting anecdote that helped Yami’s rise to fame.
In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube show, Gaurav Khanna was asked to shed light on his professional association with Yami Gautam. The actor said, “She had done one show earlier, but the show she did with me was the biggest for her. Later, she became a heroine.
" Sharing whether he has been in touch with the actress after their show, Gaurav added, “Right now, I’m not in touch, but for a year or two, I was, and I was very happy." Moving ahead, Gaurav Khanna also narrated a behind-the-scenes story that landed Yami Gautam her big Bollywood break. Reminiscing about how it all began, the actor shared that when he was shooting for a brand commercial in 2011, the same ad agency was looking for a new face for another campaign.
Back then, Gaurav would tease Yami saying, ‘You should do this ad’a nd she would laugh it off. Later, the actress became the face of that brand. What happened next? The ad caught the attention of Vicky Donor’s director, who offered Yami her debut role opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in the film.
Moving forward to 2025, the actress has now successfully carved a niche for herself, earning admiration for her versatility in films like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Article 370 and Dhoom Dhaam among others. Talking about her growth, both in terms of personal and professional life, Gaurav Khanna remarked, “She’s settled now, has become a mother, and continues to be a warm, genuine person. I’m so proud of her.
" Notably, Gaurav Khanna recently made headlines for clinching the winning title of Celebrity MasterChef, leaving behind Tejasswi Prakash, Nikki Tamboli and Rajiv Adatia. As for Yami Gautam, she is reportedly set to begin working on the sequel to the romantic comedy, Ginny Weds Sunny. The film, released in 2020, featured her alongside Vikrant Massey.
