Chat about death over tea, cake at Benicia Library

BENICIA — Death is a subject many people prefer not to discuss. Those that wish to talk on the topic are invited to the Benicia Library, 6 p.m.

Friday for the Death Cafe. The invitation simply reads "Come and help us normalize death while enjoying cake and tea." The library is at 250 E.



L St. There have more than 20,600 Death Cafes in 93 countries since September 2011, according to the group's website. The Death Cafe model was developed by Jon Underwood and Sue Barsky Reid, based on the ideas of Bernard Cretta, a Swiss sociologist and ethnologist.
