Chennai Traffic Advisory: The Highways Department is set to begin construction on a four-lane elevated corridor along Anna Salai, spanning from Teynampet to Saidapet. As a result, traffic diversions will be implemented on a trial basis from Sunday, April 20, 2025, to Tuesday, April 22, 2025. All vehicles travelling from Teynampet to Saidapet will be redirected via Cenotaph Road, Turnbulls Junction and then a right turn onto Chamiers Road (Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Devar Road), continuing to Nandanam Junction before accessing Anna Salai.

K. Moopanar (GKM) Bridge will operate as a one-way route from Cenotaph Road, with no entry allowed for vehicles coming from Gandhi Mandapam Road. Similarly, Rathna Nagar Main Road will also be designated as one way from Cenotaph Road, prohibiting entry from Anna Salai.
However, vehicles can enter from Cenotaph 1st Street, but not from Cenotaph 1st Main Road, according to the traffic police. Chennai Traffic Advisory: Kotturpuram To Teynampet via Cenotaph Road Route Restricted Vehicles travelling from Kotturpuram to Teynampet via Cenotaph Road will be restricted. Instead, they should turn left at the GKM Flyover Service Road at Turnbulls Junction and proceed towards Chamiers Road, Nandanam Junction, and Anna Salai.
