As FOX 32 Chicago reports, the storms, which moved into northwest Illinois around 3:30 a.m., are set to progress into Chicagoland during the morning hours, potentially bringing heavy rain that could disrupt traffic.
However, the storm is expected to swiftly move out of the area by noon and potentially give way to a "mild day" with highs in the mid-70s.The city's weather outlook for the next few days seems to be a mix of sunshine and rain according to the National Weather Service. Thursday will be "mostly sunny" with a high of "near 66," while Friday ups the ante with "showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm" and an 80% chance of precipitation.
The weekend, however, promises better conditions with "mostly sunny" weather and highs fluctuating from the mid-50s on Saturday to "near 62" on Sunday.Looking towards the early part of next week, temperatures in Chicago are expected to climb. The report from FOX 32 Chicago suggests Monday and Tuesday to potentially hit the 80-degree mark, though there is a chance of storms on Tuesday.
As commuters prepare to navigate the immediate downpours, they can at least look forward to possibly dry and warmer conditions as the weekend approaches and beyond..
