It’s time for one of the most bitter and bizarre family feuds in boxing history to come to a head. On Saturday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn will finally clash.
There may have never been more genuine disdain between two fighters, and the dynamic between Eubank Jr., Benn and their fathers has removed the need for any championship to be on the line. Somehow, it feels like much more is at stake.
Here's how you can watch Eubank Jr. vs. Benn.
Date: Saturday, April 26 Time: Noon ET TV/Stream: DAZN Eubank Jr. is the slight favorite to win. The latest odds list him as a -126 favorite, and many envision him winning by a late KO.
However, because he has seemingly embraced the heel role in the buildup, he may not be boxing fans' rooting favorite. Everything about this fight feels personal. Years of insults and escalating tension came to a boiling point during the first press conference when Eubank Jr.
slapped Benn in the face with an egg—an act that drew outrage and went viral. Earlier this week, Chris Eubank Sr. publicly condemned his son’s actions, calling them disgraceful and announcing he wouldn’t support him in the ring.
That moment deepened the already fractured narrative and left fans wondering just how real the bad blood runs. Eubank Jr. leaned further into his villain arc with this tweet, taunting Benn in the final lead-up to the fight.
There is a good amount on the line from a pure professional standpoint as well. Especially for Benn who has mentioned potentially challenging for a world title if he can beat Eubank. Benn has been connected to a potential fight with WBA welterweight champion Mario Barrios, which seems like a winnable fight for Benn–if he can beat Eubank Jr.
Considering Benn has battled back from suspension, beating his rival and earning a title shot would make for an amazing story. Benn’s rise was halted in 2022 when he tested positive for a banned substance ahead of the originally scheduled fight with Eubank. The event was postponed, and Benn’s public image took a massive hit.
Benn and his promoter Matchroom have spent the last two years trying to restore credibility. A win over Eubank Jr.—in front of a massive UK crowd—would do more than restore it; it would reframe Benn as a legitimate contender in one of boxing’s most stacked weight classes.
It was also leave the proverbial egg on his opponent’s face for a change. Meanwhile, Eubank Jr. is seeking clarity for a career that’s flirted with the elite level but has often fallen short when it matters most.
A dominant win over Benn could spark one final run at a belt. A loss, especially one that ends decisively, may shift the conversation around his future and he might be pushed to retire from the sport. This is something he has seemingly pondered in the past.
The other fights on the DAZN card are also interesting. Anthony Yarde takes on Lyndon Arthur, Liam Smith faces Aaron McKenna, Chris Billiam-Smith clashes with Brandon Glanton and Cheavon Clarke faces Viddal Riley. Be on the lookout for a results piece on the entire card.
See you on Saturday when the action begins..
