Just after midnight, the call “Come, receive the light” rang out, followed by the joyful “Christ is Risen,” bringing jubilation to the neighborhood.In Thessaloniki, the message of the Resurrection was proclaimed in all churches, filled to capacity with worshippers.
The bells rang joyfully, and the hymn “Christ is Risen” echoed throughout the city. At the Metropolitan Church of Saint Gregory Palamas, the service was led by Metropolitan Philotheos of Thessaloniki, who stated in his message: “There is no sound more wondrous than this.” He urged the faithful to remain for the Resurrection Divine Liturgy, so they could become, as he said, “eyewitnesses of the Risen Christ.
”In Corfu, at the Church of Saint Constantine of Nymfes, the grandeur of the Resurrection was captured by the lens of Eurokinissi. Fireworks and glowing candles filled the night sky, creating a solemn and celebratory atmosphere.Across Athens, Thessaloniki, Corfu, and Nafplio, the spirit of Easter was alive—marked by reverence, light, and joy.
