According to the digital-only lender, all impacted customers have had their funds returned. CIMB previously said it had initiated the reversal of the affected transactions but did not disclose the total scope or value of the unauthorized transfers.

"The Bank would like to emphasize that its core banking system and customer data remain secure and uncompromised. Protecting customers’ security continues to be the Bank’s highest priority," CIMB said in a statement sent via email. “We regret the inconvenience this incident may have caused and are taking all necessary steps to strengthen our systems further,” it added.



Customers seeking assistance may contact the bank through its official customer care hotline #2462 or the "Need Help?" feature on its mobile application. In a separate statement, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas said it was closely coordinating with CIMB to ensure full resolution of the incident. "The BSP will continue to monitor the issue until fully resolved," the central bank said.

"The BSP remains committed to safeguarding the security of the financial system, protecting consumer welfare, and maintaining public trust." Earlier this year, CIMB announced its target to grow its customer base to 10 million in 2025 by adding 1 million users this year. It also aims to increase its loan customers to 4.
