A classic play from the 1950s is set to be shown at a local theatre next month. Terence Rattigan's 'The Deep Blue Sea' will be shown at Bolton Little Theatre from May 17 to May 24. The 1952 play is a story of lives blighted by love, or the lack of it.
Hester Collyer is discovered by her neighbours after her failed attempt to take her own life. Over the course the play she reveals the turmoil of her situation, having left a safe and comfortable marriage for a passionate affair with a semi-alcoholic former RAF pilot, Freddie Page.
