Cleveland's weather forecast predicts a mix of fair weather, storms, and wind, with advisories for boaters on Lake Erie.

As Cleveland braces for a bout of springtime weather whiplash, the National Weather Service in Cleveland has rolled out a detailed forecast to help residents prepare. Today, the fair weather resulting from a ridge making its way through the region is to quickly give way to a more turbulent start of the week. The NWS advises that a warm front moving northeastward will be the precursor to scattered showers and potential thunderstorms post-midnight tonight.

Highs today are expected to hover in the 50s to upper 60s, while tonight's lows are set to dip mainly into the mid-40s to mid-50s.One can anticipate seeing gusts reaching 30 to 40 mph as Monday progresses, particularly west of the I-71. While severe thunderstorm potential remains minimal, NWS Cleveland notes that the strong winds aloft will help to rapidly push along any precipitation, thus lessening the risk for flooding despite high moisture levels and heavy rainfall during showers and thunderstorms.

Looking ahead to the midweek, a period of calm is on the horizon. Tuesday and Wednesday will bring clearer skies as high pressure builds northwest of the region. Although temperatures are expected to drop noticeably after the front, they will remain in the 50s and 60s on Tuesday.

By Wednesday, with the passage of a warm front, temperatures are likely to rebound, according to NWS Cleveland.By Thursday, unsettled weather is set to return with several rounds of rain predicted through Saturday. There is still some uncertainty concerning the Thursday forecast, but moisture creeping into the region by Thursday evening is expected to increase the chances of rain.

Temperatures could soar into the upper 70s, though, depending on how long the rain can hold off.The implications for boaters on Lake Erie will be significant. The change in wind flow from northeast to easterly could kick up waves to Small Craft Advisory levels as early as this evening.

Come Monday, southwest winds are set to intensify, necessitating further advisories. As the front moves through the Great Lakes region on Friday, expect likely rain and a cooler weekend in its wake. Boaters keen on hitting the water should stay tuned to marine forecasts for the latest advisories, reports NWS Cleveland.
