A Cornwall beach has been named as one of best hidden locations in the UK. Cornwall is renowned for it's stunning coastline and seaside towns and millions of people visit each year. Many people are now choosing a staycation in the UK over a pricey holiday abroad, which is no surprise due to the beauty of some spots across the region.
Holafly, the travel eSIM provider, has uncovered some of the best-kept secrets along the UK coastline, showcasing lesser-known spots for those seeking a quiet holiday. Out of 50 stretches of coastline, Pedn Vounder Beach was named the eighth best hidden beach in the UK, with Aberfforest Beach in Pembrokeshire getting the top spot. Other beaches that reached the top ten included Pentle Bay in the Scilly Isles and Woolacombe Sands in Devon.
Pedn Vounder Beach has earned a reputation for its beautiful views and cliff face. The beach has a number of five star reviews on Trip Advisor. One reviewer said: "Magnificent beach! I was worried with all of these warnings (on the cliff) but it is actually easy if you have normal coordination and fitness.
" Another added: "This beach cove really is gorgeous, the water is crystal clear and a stunning turquoise colour, you wouldn’t believe it’s in the UK. Only about a mile from the nearest parking lot, but it definitely isn’t a trip for the faint-hearted. "It is a very steep hike/climb down to get onto the beach, virtually rock climbing.
Make sure you take all the essentials too as there is nothing around once you get there." A third said: "The most beautiful beach I've ever been to. But the climb down and up is not for the faint-hearted.
"I'm not fit by any means, I couldn't walk for two days after lol. Very steep climb up, with steps. Coming down was worse.
You basically have to get on your bum and slide down rocks. "Please wear sensible shoes. Don't bring bags and bags of beach stuff.
No pushchairs, not suitable for young kids at all.".
