Coronation Street will be introducing a new character next week on the cobbles

Coronation Street is set for explosive scenes next week as 'Dom' finally makes his appearance. Only recently, after a massive argument, Daisy Midgeley has been conspiring with her mother Christina Boyd to exact revenge on her stepmother Jenny Connor. In recent episodes, the pair have crafted a bogus dating profile, posing as a man named Dom who owns his own vineyard.

Daisy and Christina have even been sending gifts, pretending they're from Dom, leaving an unsuspecting Jenny thrilled. In spoilers next week, it seems Christina goes through with the next step of her plan as 'Dom' arrives in the Rovers, leaving Jenny thrilled. Daisy is shocked but Christina explains to Daisy that it's all part of her plan.

When Dom confides in Jenny that he’s selling his business and anyone who invests in it in the next few days will be guaranteed to double their money she is clearly interested, unaware of Christina and Daisy's subterfuge. Later in the week, Christina and Daisy are thrilled when Jenny decides she wants to invest in Dom's company. Knowing they will have their money soon Daisy tells Daniel that an aunt has decided to give her some money and she’d like to use it so that they can start afresh away from Weatherfield.

However, as the week ends, it appears the duo's downfall is teased as Daisy and Christina are shocked to realise Dom spent the night with Jenny. Jenny admits she really likes him but they just spent the night talking. Later, when Daniel and Daisy arrive at the hotel for a couples massage, Daniel is surprised to see Christina with Dom.

.. Dom is being played by actor Dominic Rickhards and soap fans may recognise him as he previously played another cobbles role.

Dominic played occupational therapist Michael Wall on Corrie from 1998 to 2000, where the character helped Jim McDonald recuperate after a building site accident left him in a wheelchair. However, in true soap fashion, Michael found himself attracted to Jim's estranged wife, Liz. The two began an affair at the same time Jim decided to try and win her back.

After being caught, Michael and Liz decided to relocate to Milton Keynes even getting engaged. Liz returned to Weatherfield almost two years later, where she decided she didn't want to be with Michael anymore. As well as Coronation Street, actor Dominic has also appeared in Hollyoaks, Night & Day, The Bill and Heartbeat.

Coronation Street continues on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV and ITV X..
