Coronation Street will air Julie Carp's final scenes next week – and fans of the ITV soap are set for it be an emotional one.

Julie Carp, played by Katy Cavanagh, first appeared on the ITV soap in 2008 as the half-sister of Eileen Grimshaw, before moving away from Weatherfield in 2015. When Julie returned to the street earlier this year, as part of Eileen’s final storyline, she initially hid that she was living with terminal cancer. Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) were the first to find out about her Sarcoma and encouraged her to tell Eileen, too.

In Julie’s final scenes, set to be shown next week, the sisters can be seen on a scenic day out at a lake. Julie asks Eileen to go to the refreshment van for her and, when she returns, she discovers Julie lying on her back with her eyes closed. However, before Julie dies, George discovers a video she left for Eileen where she tells her sister she needs to break up with him.

Since her return to Weatherfield, Julie's been determined to live life to the fullest and spend time with her sister, which has made Eileen ponder the direction of her own life, too. As Eileen grieves the loss of Julie, it could also spark a realisation about her relationship with George. What have Corrie fans said online? Since Julie’s final scenes were confirmed, devastated Corrie fans were quick to take to X (formerly Twitter) to share their upset.
