Coroner identifies man killed in early morning North Charleston shooting

The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified the 42-year-old man shot and killed in the early hours of April 22 on Kraft Avenue in North Charleston. A suspect has been charged.

NORTH CHARLESTON — The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified the 42-year-old man shot and killed in the early hours of April 22. According to an April 23 news release, the victim was Jamol Seabrook, who lived in North Charleston. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:10 a.

m., police responded to a home in the 3300 block of Kraft Avenue for reports of someone being shot, police spokesperson Harve Jacobs said. According to the incident report, Seabrook was lying down by the front door when officers arrived.

The residents who called police said they were watching TV when Seabrook banged on their door and said he'd been shot. Later that afternoon, authorities arrested 28-year-old Kendell Scott in connection with Seabrook's death. Scott was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and is currently detained at the Al Cannon Detention Center .
