A countryside pub with a skittle alley is going up for auction. The Barley Mow, in Walderton, near Chichester, is being auctioned by Clive Emson, with a guide price of £450,000. The auction for the freehold public house, which includes living accommodation above, ends on May 1, 2025.

The pub has a bar and dining area with seating for 90, a function room with a skittle alley, a kitchen with a range of catering equipment and a cellar. On the first floor, there is living accommodation with two or three bedrooms. Outside, there is a lawned seating area, a covered area, and a gravel car park with space for 35 cars, along with additional outside storage buildings.



The auctioneers added: "This detached building sits within the Walderton Conservation Area and is in good condition having been trading late last year and is the only pub in the village. "It would be well suited to continued use as a public house or may have potential for alternative uses such as guest accommodation or development, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable." It was listed by property firm Fleurets with a price of £585,000.
