County gives go ahead to study fire impact fee increases

FAIRFIELD – The three rural fire districts the county is looking to consolidate were approved Tuesday to initiate a study for their fire protection district impact fee updates.

FAIRFIELD – The three rural fire districts the county is looking to consolidate were approved Tuesday to initiate a study for their fire protection district impact fee updates. The districts involved are the Vacaville Fire Protection District, the Montezuma Fire Protection District and the Suisun Fire Protection District The studies are to show the need to raise the fees to finance public facilities and services impacted by growth. The county board also approved a $142,178 appropriation transfer for the Suusin district "for various programmatic needs and offset by recognizing $54,546 in revenues from Solano County for a pilot seasonal program.

In other action, the board: • Ratified the previous request to the California State for Workforce Development Board to continue to directly provide “Career Services” under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Adult and Dislocated Worker grant programs. • Approved the Workforce Development Board of Solano County’s application to the California Workforce Development Board for Local Workforce Area Subsequent Designation and Local Workforce Board Recertification. • Approved an $84,900 contract with Harder+Company for Solano Opportunity Youth Research Report services through Oct.



31; and approved a $134,520 contract with The Student Conservation Association Inc., for $134,520 for for the Xplore Solano Summer Youth Work Experience Program through Aug. 31.

• Approved the final Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act North Bay Regional Plan and Solano County Local Workforce Plan for submission to the California Workforce Development Board..
