Crematorium becomes 'greenest in UK' with new solar farm

Harbour View Crematorium, in Lytchett Minster, put up the solar farm on the roofs of barns it built for Home Farm in the surrounding fields. The solar panels produce more electricity than the cremators require. Steven Tapper, director of Harbour View Crematorium, said: "Operating a crematorium can present many challenges for a company such as ours, that wants to minimise its carbon footprint and to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

"Our new solar farm has taken us a huge step in the right direction. "We believe we are the greenest crematorium in the UK." The crematorium already has a high standard of environmental credentials and the latest filtration system for its cremators.
