Criminal with 25K reward held

Prayagraj: A joint team of Special Task Force (STF) and Pratapgarh police on Monday arrested a wanted criminal from Murain Tola village. The arrested criminal-- identified as Brijesh Kumar, a resident of Fatehpur—was wanted under the Gangsters Act and carrying a Rs 25,000 cash reward on his head. Acting on a tip off that Brijesh was hiding in the village, a joint team of Fatanpur police and STF conducted a raid and arrested him.

Police said Brijesh was operating a gang involved in stealing vehicles across the state. He, along with his accomplices, had looted a cement sheets-loaded truck in the Fatanpur area in Dec 2023. The gang also looted another truck in Pratapgarh in March 2024.



A total of four cases were pending against Brijesh in Pratapgarh and Bhadohi districts. tnn.
