Former Mizzou standout guard Sophie Cunningham was selected to join the Mizzou Hall of Fame class of 2025. It was Cunningham’s first year of eligibility. The Rock Bridge product was informed by new women’s basketball coach Kellie Harper on a Zoom call with Mizzou Athletic Director Laird Veatch.
The news was posted on X Monday morning. Cunningham boasts a long list of accolades in her Mizzou bio. Most notably, she is Mizzou’s all-time leading scorer with 2,187 points, all-time leader in free throws made (537) and ranks second in 3-pointers made (238).
In her final season with the Tigers, Cunningham averaged 17.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.
8 assists per game. She was the only player in the nation to hit 80 three-pointers, sink 150 free throws, grab 200 rebounds, and average at least 17 points per game. Her final appearance in a black and gold uniform came in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where Mizzou fell 68-52 on March 24, 2019.
It also marks the last time the Tigers reached the NCAA Tournament. During her four seasons with the Tigers from 2015 to 2019, Cunningham helped lead Mizzou to the NCAA Tournament each year. Mizzou guard Nyah Wilson entered the transfer portal, according to On3’s Talia Goodman .
Wilson played two seasons at Syracuse and one at New Mexico before her move to join the Tigers for the 2024-2025 campaign. The Dallas product is currently out of eligibility, but in a move similar to Mizzou men’s basketball’s Josh Gray , Wilson enters the transfer portal in hopes of being granted a fifth year. In her lone season with the Tigers, Wilson played in 31 games and started 15, averaging 4.
6 points and 1.8 assists per game. With Wilson’s departure, a total of seven players from last season’s roster have now entered the transfer portal.
