'Dad, I Could Live in India': J Vance Shares Son Ewan's Heartfelt Moment With PM Modi

During his ongoing visit to India, US Vice President JD Vance praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's hospitality, sharing a touching anecdote about his 7-year-old son, Ewan, who said he could imagine living in India after meeting PM Modi.

US Vice President JD Vance, currently on a four-day visit to India, appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his hospitality. Speaking at an event in Jaipur, Vance shared a heartwarming moment about his seven-year-old son, Ewan, who, after meeting PM Modi, said he could imagine living in India."Yesterday, we had dinner at the Prime Minister’s residence.

The food was incredible, and his kindness towards our kids was something we’ll never forget," Vance said during his address at the Rajasthan International Centre. “After the dinner, my son came to me and said, ‘Dad, I think I can live in India’.”However, the Jaipur sun had its say.



After exploring Amber Fort, Ewan apparently had a change of heart and jokingly suggested a move to England instead. “You take the good with the bad,” Vance laughed. Vance, recalling a memorable gesture from the PM, called him a "special person.

" He shared that PM Modi surprised his younger son, Vivek, with a birthday gift during a previous meeting in Paris. That touched us deeply.

”Vance said his children – Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel – formed a quick bond with both PM Modi andUS President Donald Trump. “Both leaders have a unique energy that connects with kids,” he said. “And I like the Prime Minister too.

It’s a good sign for the future of our ties.”This marks the first visit by a US Vice President to India in over a decade. The Vance family began their trip in Delhi, visiting iconic spots like the Akshardham temple and Central Cottage Industries Emporium.

The proposed trade pact aims to resolve tariff issues and expand market access ahead of a key policy deadline on reciprocal tariffs.

After their Delhi engagements, the Vance family headed to Jaipur and visited the UNESCO-listed Amber Fort. On April 23, they will travel to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal and Shilpgram, before returning to Jaipur later in the day. Their Indian visit concludes on April 24.
