Daesang Corporation announced on April 25 that it will take part in a popup store for the global peanut butter brand SKIPPY®, taking place at the cultural complex "Nudite Ikseon" in Ikseon-dong, Seoul, from April 26 to May 11. SKIPPY® is a renowned peanut butter brand owned by the American food company Hormel Foods. Daesang has been exclusively distributing key products such as "Creamy Peanut Butter" and "Chunky Peanut Butter" in South Korea since 2013.

In November of last year, the company expanded its product lineup by launching two varieties of "SKIPPY® No Sugar Added," which contain no added sugars or sugar substitutes. The popup store is themed "Joseon SKIPPY®," creating a unique space where visitors can experience the brand within a Korean cultural context. The exhibition area features traditional elements such as clay pots, tiles, and folding screens, while event staff dressed in Joseon-era attire, including soldiers and entertainers, enhance the immersive experience for visitors.



At the popup store, attendees can participate in programs that include "Making Peanut Sauce," "Peanut Sorting," and "Grinding Peanuts" to learn about the peanut butter production process. Traditional games like archery to find the peanut gatherer in a painting, as well as "Ddakji" and "Jegichagi," will also be featured. Participants who complete experiential missions will receive "SKIPPY® Tokens," which can be exchanged for traditional snacks made with SKIPPY®, such as songpyeon, misutgaru, and yeot.

In addition, special menus utilizing SKIPPY® will be offered in collaboration with nearby cafes in Ikseon-dong, allowing visitors to enjoy SKIPPY® products in a unique way even after visiting the popup store. “We are excited to be part of this popup store as the official distributor of the global peanut butter brand SKIPPY® in Korea," said Choi Min-sung, head of the Convenient Food Team at Daesang Corporation.
