(Football Insider) Newcastle United could be getting very serious on a pursuit of Bayern Munich center-back Kim Min-jae: Min-jae was close to joining the Premier League in 2023 after Football Insider revealed Bayern Munich hijacked Man United’s transfer, and he made the move to Germany.
Now, Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has claimed the centre-back is interested in the possibility of a move to England. “Newcastle want to push on from the position they’re in,” he told Football Insider. “They’ve done very well recently, finally won a trophy and look like they’ll get into the Champions League .
But Eddie Howe still feels they need to strengthen their options at the back. Sven Botman has been unlucky with injuries, Dan Burn has been fantastic but he’s not a European-level defender, and Fabian Schar isn’t getting any younger. “So it’s an area Newcastle feel they could improve in and they want to do that this summer.
Kim Min-jae is a name I’ve heard recently in connection with Newcastle, and he’d be a good option. Man United wanted him before he moved to Bayern, and he’s done well there but I’ve heard whispers he could now be available. “He would bring a lot of know-how and elite-level experience to this Newcastle side which is always a huge asset for any team.
Plus, he’s a solid defender and I think he’d be interested in a move to the Premier League, so I think he’s going to be one they look to get over the line.” Related Report: Bayern Munich willing to sell Kim Min-jae..

However, nothing has been signed yet. Flick feels completely comfortable, and Joan Laporta is very pleased. Everything points towards a new deal being agreed.
However, a renewal will not become official until the season has ended, as per Marca. With Flick, a treble remains a realistic possibility this season. Flick has done a terrific job in Catalonia and if he is able to guide the team to trophies by the end of the season will — once again — cement his status as a top manager in the world.

Vincent Kompany backs Bayern Munich’s Jonas Urbig to deliver Gunners want Wirtz, too (CaughtOffside) Arsenal FC is jumping into the fray for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz: Florian Wirtz continues to attract the interest of the biggest clubs in Europe after successful seasons spent at Bayer Leverkusen.
The 21-year-old German midfielder has become one of the most talked-about names on the transfer market because of his technical ability, game intelligence and potential. He has picked up 15 goals and 13 assists in all competitions this season. He has been labelled as a “genius” by the Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso.
Sources have informed CaughtOffside that Real Madrid stands out among the clubs that want to add Florian Wirtz’s talents to their roster. The Spanish giants are reportedly looking at him as a potential replacement for the Brazilian superstar Vinicius Jr. There have been rumours that he could be heading to Saudi Arabia, and Real Madrid believe that the German International could be a quality alternative.
German giants Bayern Munich are keen on Wirtz as well. The club is preparing a serious offer to convince Leverkusen, while continuing negotiations with the player’s representatives. Bayern Munich covets Wirtz, but it is difficult to discern just how serious the attacker might be about a move to England or Spain.

The decision is not easy to make, just look at Manchester City: [Julian] Álvarez, a top striker, left the club because he hardly played behind Haaland.
That’s why it’s difficult to get a like-for-like replacement for Harry Kane, but perhaps rather someone who can be used in a variety of ways,” said Eberl. If the club sells Mathys Tel, Bayern MUnich needs someone to fill-in for Kane, especially as the striker racks of bumps, bruises, and a lot of mileage on his legs. Finding the right player, though, will be a tough task because that personal will have to know there will not be a lot of minutes in his future.

Gnabry talks return from injury (Bundesliga.com via @iMiaSanMia) Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry recently talked about the process of returning from injury.
“I immediately always hope I will come back sooner than diagnosed. And then straight away focus on doing the best rehab, doing the best work possible for that period of time to get back into shape. I think by growing older, having had a lot of injuries, I feel like I take it easier, because at the end of the day I try to do everything not to get injured, do a lot of work.
So, I can’t tell myself that I missed out or did whatever. So, I take it a little bit easier. I think that also helps me on the mental side,” Gnabry said.
One of the reasons that Bayern Munich has been contemplating bringing in another option at wing is because of the injury issues that its current group has faced.
