United eyeing Goretzka (GiveMeSport) Manchester United could be gazing toward Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka’s direction once again: Manchester United are showing an interest in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka ahead of the summer transfer window , according to journalist Christian Falk. Adding a new midfielder could be one of United’s priorities this summer, with the futures of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen in doubt. The Red Devils have endured a difficult season as they battle in the bottom half of the Premier League table, so there’s no doubt reinforcements will be necessary.

Goretzka has been a key player with Bayern for a few years now, regularly competing in Europe and the Bundesliga. United might be looking to add a little more experience to play in the middle of the park if Casemiro and Eriksen do head through the exit door this summer. According to a report from journalist Falk, Manchester United are interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Goretzka.

The Premier League side have a long-standing interest in the German international, and that remains the same heading towards the summer transfer window. This is not the first time that Manchester United has been rumored to have interest in Goretzka, but it still seems extremely unlikely that the 30-year-old will move on this summer. With a contract running through 2026, it seems as if the Germany international will be inclined to stay put in Bavaria.

Although Spurs shattered their transfer record less than 12 months ago, when Dominic Solanke completed a £65million switch from Bournemouth, boss Ange Postecoglou is threatening to go head-to-head with Villans head coach Unai Emery and Magpies chief Eddie Howe for further reinforcements in the summer. Aston Villa have an option to buy Marcus Rashford for £40million in the coming months, thanks to the terms agreed with Manchester United when they initially took him on loan earlier this year, but they have joined Tottenham and Newcastle in keeping tabs on Grealish’s situation.

Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle could win the race to sign Grealish in the summer, according to GMS sources, after all three clubs have been earmarked as possible destinations when Manchester City have been giving indications that they will entertain offers when the transfer window reopens for business. The wide forward became the most expensive recruit in British history when he sealed a £100million move from Villa Park in August 2021 but, having seen him struggle to secure regular starts this season, Villans tactician Emery has been tempted to offer a route back to familiar surroundings despite facing competition from Spurs and the Magpies. Although GMS sources have been informed that Grealish has been desperate to live up to his price tag and has a strong desire to remain on Manchester City’s books, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle could be handed an opportunity to pounce as his current employers are refusing to rule out the possibility of cashing in.
