Dallas Wings select Paige Bueckers No. 1 overall in WNBA Draft

Get ready, WNBA fans. Paige Bueckers is officially on her way to Dallas. The Wings made sure of that when they selected the UConn star with the first overall pick to tip-off the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Bueckers, 23, now gets ready for her first professional season after capping off her collegiate career in emphatic fashion with a national championship last Sunday. The three-time first-team All-American (all unanimous selections) put up 17 points, six rebounds, three assists, a steal and two blocks as she captured her lone national title in a blowout win over South Carolina. The first round of the 2025 WNBA Draft will feature 12 picks, with 13 in each of the final two rounds. After Dallas makes its pick, the Seattle Storm hold the No. 2 selection overall.
