A company based in Daresbury has helped a catering equipment supplier streamline its operations.

Geek+, which opened its UK headquarters at Sci-Tech Daresbury in 2022, is a global leader in autonomous mobile robot (AMR) technology. The company has expanded in the UK and across Europe, creating a host of tech jobs in the Liverpool City Region. It has now helped Nisbets, a distributor of catering equipment and consumables in the UK and Ireland, Northern Europe, and Australasia, by deploying its mobile robotics solutions at their Avonmouth warehouse in Bristol.

The Avonmouth facility, which stores more than 12,500 different products, now benefits from enhanced operational flexibility, improved safety, and increased order fulfilment accuracy. Geek+'s fleet of 190 AMRs, including 39 RS8 robots, 133 P40 robots, and 18 P800 robots, enables Nisbets to handle high-volume order picking. The 33,540 box locations and 600 pallet racks, coupled with four pallet workstations and ten tote workstations, mean they can adapt to customer demands.

Simon Houghton, director of sales - Northern Europe at Geek+, said: "By adopting Geek+ robotics, Nisbets has taken a significant step forward in transforming its warehouse operations. "This collaboration ensures that Nisbets can continue to deliver on its promise of operational excellence and faster, more reliable service for its customers." The project was carried out in conjunction with Geek+'s partner AMH Material Handling, whose expertise in warehouse integration ensured connectivity between systems.
