fippingerfuneralhome.com . David was born on October 12, 1963 to Norman and Barbara Baggett in Aledo.

His early years were spent on the banks of the Mississippi having a magical childhood - fishing off the ferry boat, camping out on the islands, and swimming in the river. He loved the outdoors and his interests led him to earn Eagle Scout. He graduated from Westmer in 1982.

David enlisted in the National Guard at age 17 and served two enlistments. He went on to school with many interests including film and photography, and graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor's in Broadcast Communications. During his college years he had the opportunity to study abroad, which led to a lifelong love of travel.

Over the years he was fortunate to travel to many places, often with his brother and sister in law, with many cherished memories and funny stories they shared over the years. He met his eventual wife, Ann Davis, in Macomb, and she led him to live in Chicago, where he had many unique jobs, spent some time making short films, and then landed at Shedd Aquarium where he worked in the Audio Visual and IT department for 18 years. He married Ann in an outdoor ceremony with friends and family on October 3, 2015.

David treasured time with friends and family, and adored his nieces Susan and Leeann - his childlike playfulness, kind spirit and personality shining through always. He was passionate about movies and music, excited to share new movies, music and artists with anyone. David loved cooking and grilling often concocting new recipes.

He had an unending love for animals including his special dog, Wolfie and his many cats. Those left to cherish David's memories include his wife; his parents; one brother, John (Rebecca) Baggett of Chillicothe, Ill.; his nieces; his aunt, Valerie (Mike) Dodson; uncle, Jimmy (Theresa) Hansen; and many cousins.

He will be missed by many friends and loved ones. Sign up to get the most recent local obituaries delivered to your inbox..
