Deepa Edirisinghe vows return to empower Colombo women

Former Colombo Municipal Councillor Deepa Edirisinghe is contesting again for the Colombo Municipal Council under the People’s Alliance, aiming to empower women and strengthen female representation. A Sri Lanka Freedom Party member and organizer for Colombo West, Edirisinghe previously served from 2018 to 2022, focusing on poverty alleviation and community development. Inspired by her mother, Soma Edirisinghe, she entered social service and is committed to continuing her work for all communities in Colombo.

She emphasized the need for better infrastructure, especially drainage, and pledged to serve without discrimination. Edirisinghe expressed confidence in public support to carry her mission forward. by Chatura Pamunuwa.
