Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: Once operational, this train will be the third premium service on this stretch, after the Rajdhani Express and the Duronto Express. Indian Railways is all set to roll out the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, the latest addition to its premium fleet. Built by BEML using ICF (Integral Coach Factory) technology, this new train was officially unveiled by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in September 2024.
One of the first routes to get this sleeper service will be New Delhi to Howrah. Covering a stretch of 1,449 km, the train is expected to complete the journey in less than 15 hours. It will run at a top speed of 160 kmph as per ET Now.
Once launched, it will be the third premium train on this busy route, joining the ranks of the Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express. The Vande Bharat Sleeper will make halts at key stations, including: Kanpur Central Prayagraj Junction DD Upadhyaya Junction Gaya Junction Dhanbad Junction Asansol Junction This modern sleeper train will feature 16 coaches in total: 11 AC 3-Tier Coaches 4 AC 2-Tier Coaches 1 AC First Class Coach As for ticket fares: AC 3-Tier: Around Rs 3,000 AC 2-Tier: Around Rs 4,000 AC First Class: Around Rs 5,100 Here’s the expected timetable for the Vande Bharat Sleeper: From Delhi to Howrah: Departs 5:00 PM, arrives 8:00 AM next day Return from Howrah to Delhi: Departs 5:00 PM, arrives 8:00 AM next day.
