Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: A new link from Bandikui on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway to Jaipur Ring Road will make the travel to the Pink City from the national capital shorter and smoother. After the opening of the link in June, non-stop travel from Delhi to Jaipur will happen in 2.5 hours.
The new link will bring down the distance between Delhi and Jaipur by 20 km. Apart from this, those heading from Ghaziabad, Noida will be able to travel to Jaipur seamlessly. Currently, commuters travelling to Jaipur from Delhi, Gurgaon and Faridabad need to get off the Delhi-Mumbai expressway at Dausa and take NH-21, which is a four-lane highway. Since this is an existing expressway passing through towns and villages, the maximum speed for cars is 100 kmph. Once the Bandikui-Jaipur link, the 67 km access-controlled highway, is operational, commuters will be able to drive non-stop.
This link was later added to Delhi-Mumbai expressway, keeping in mind the growth of Jaipur bound traffic. Efforts are on to see if traffic can be allowed by last week of next month by creating a small diversion for this one-km stretch,' a senior NHAI official said, as per the TOI report.
