When Cyrus released her polarizing music video for Wrecking Ball, it earned the Vevo record for the most views in the first 24 hours after its release with 19.
3 million views. The video, which features the former Disney Channel star licking a sledgehammer at one point, has since amassed over 1.2 billion views.
Although she may have sought some inspiration from Cyrus, Doja paved her own path with the rest of the striking video, alongside her collaborator Don Toliver. The F1 The Album drops on June 27, the same day as the Apple Original Film, which stars Pitt and Idris as competing F1 drivers. It will follow her 2023 album Scarlet, which she previously called 'quite an angry project' during an interview with Jack Harlow for Present Space, last year. 'I think the point of that album was to showcase anger and how it processes through my mind, but also it’s about coming to your own defense and love,' she said.
Doja continued: 'It’s sort of my "Why I oughta!" moment of squaring up with everyone and defending myself, telling myself that I’m here for me, and not just for everybody else’s enjoyment.'
