The Dolphins made a bold move to add beef to their offensive line.

The Miami Dolphins traded up with the Las Vegas Raiders to select Arizona offensive lineman Jonah Savaiinaea with the No. 37 overall selection in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft.According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Dolphins gave up their third round selection (No.

98 overall) and swapped fourth-round selections (No. 135 to the Raiders in exchange for No. 143) to move up 11 spots in Round 2.

Savaiianea will have an opportunity to compete for a starting role right away in Miami. After guards Robert Jones, Liam Eichenberg, Isaiah Wynn all struggled during the 2024 season, the Dolphins allowed Jones and Wynn to reach free agency. While Eichenberg was re-signed, Savaiianea could quickly supplant the veteran in the starting lineup.

At Arizona, Savaiianea was a two-time All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention and earned a All-Big-12 Honorable Mention in 2024. The three-year starter was a guard early in his career with the Wildcats, but transitioned to tackle and spent time at both left and right tackle in 2024.Following the trade and selection of Savaiianea, the Dolphins are not scheduled to pick again until Day 3 on Saturday.
