Dong-A Pharmaceutical announced on April 21 that it has introduced a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) based IT system at its manufacturing plants in Dangjin, Cheonan, and Icheon. The implementation of this system started at the Dangjin plant in 2022 and was gradually expanded to include the Icheon and Cheonan plants. This initiative aims to establish a smart process system across all manufacturing facilities and standardize the production quality management system.
Key systems that have been implemented include: Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) Quality Management System (QMS) Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Electronic Batch Record System (EBR) Laboratory Equipment System (LES) These systems enable real-time monitoring of the entire process from raw material receipt to product shipment, resulting in reduced production costs and improved data consistency across the three plants. Previously, Dong-A Pharmaceutical’s Dangjin, Cheonan, and Icheon plants all received GMP certification, as well as international certifications for environmental management (ISO 14001) and occupational health and safety management (ISO 45001), establishing a globally competitive production infrastructure. “The full implementation of the GMP IT system was aimed at enhancing the transparency of our production processes and strengthening our quality competitiveness," said an official from Dong-A Pharmaceutical.
"We will continue to strive to create a pharmaceutical production environment that ensures safety for consumers.”.
