DOOM: The Dark Ages is coming up super fast, launching in less than a month's time on 15th May, and Bethesda has just released a new trailer. The emphasis this time is on the game's narrative, which is much more of an important factor than it was in previous DOOM titles. Set before either of the past two modern games, Dark Ages sees the Slayer being used as a super weapon in a war against the forces of Hell itself.
Seemingly being controlled by the Maykrs, he's deployed like a nuke, using his bladed shield and various other weapons to fight hordes of demons. Showing a mix of cutscenes and gameplay, this gory FPS continues to look awesome, and to be honest, we're here for the additional story; it doesn't seem overly complex, but will give some extra context to all the fighting. At the very end of the trailer is a tease for a monster that is either Cthulhu or a creature heavily inspired by Cthulhu.
Battling against cosmic beings like that would certainly be cool..
