Dorothy H. Allen OBITUARY Dorothy Allen, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, entered into eternal rest on Friday April 18, 2025 after a brief illness. She was born in Presque Isle ME to Doris and Herman Holt.

She spent her younger years in Marlborough before residing in Glastonbury with her husband where they raised their family. She worked for the State of Connecticut Labor Department for over 20 years. She was an avid duckpin bowler and participated in many tournaments.

She was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan and a die-hard UCONN Women’s basketball fan. She was a member of the John Tom Hill Community Club. She truly enjoyed knitting and crocheting often to donate hats and gloves to various charities.

She took great pride in completing the daily Sudoku and Cryptoquip and never turned down an opportunity to play Scrabble with her friends Judi and Amy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Doug and son-in-law Craig. Dorothy is survived by children Brenda and Dale (Barbara), sister Liz, two granddaughters, three great grandsons, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours as requested by Dorothy. There will be a graveside service on Saturday May 3rd, 11am at the Old Church Cemetery, 1347 Main St, Glastonbury. For online condolences please visit www.
