The grants, managed by Dorset Council, are for community, arts, sport, youth and play initiatives. Organisations can apply for small grants ranging from £1,500 to £5,000 to kickstart new activities or events. These projects should aim to make a significant difference in the lives of Dorset residents, particularly those who are marginalised or disadvantaged.
Applicants must cover at least 20 per cent of their total project costs and demonstrate the potential impact of their projects on the community. The application period closes on Thursday, June 5. Dorset Council is also offering the small capital grants fund for organisations or groups needing funding to improve community spaces, play areas, sports pitches, arts, or museum venues.
This fund provides one-off grants between £5,000 and £15,000 to enhance facilities that contribute to a better environment for Dorset residents. Organisations must secure a minimum of 20 per cent towards their total project costs. Councillor Ryan Hope, cabinet member for customer, culture, and community engagement at Dorset Council, said: "I am very pleased we can provide these small but vital grants that enrich the lives of people who live and work in Dorset.
"We look forward to making many new grant awards in the coming months.".
