A stolen vehicle from Waterloo hit multiple vehicles, including a police cruiser. Waterloo Regional Police used a GPS tracker to find a stolen Honda Accord on Monday around 9:20 a.m.
They said they found the vehicle in a parking lot near Parkside Drive and Northfield Drive West after it was stolen from a lot on Frobisher Drive. When police approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated and reversed, hitting a police cruiser and several other parked vehicles. The driver mounted the curb onto the grass and drove into oncoming traffic.
Due to safety concerns, officers did not chase after the driver. The empty Honda was later found in the King Street North and Northfield Drive area. Officers said they found the driver trying to hide in a nearby building.
When the suspect saw police, he tried to run away but was arrested on Davenport Road.
