Driver tries to ram through protesting students

Police officers stopped a driver from ramming through a crowd of students blocking the entrance to state TV studios in the Belgrade suburb of Kostutnjak on Friday. The incident is one of several involving drivers ramming through crowds of protesting students since the protests began 5 months earlier. Several students were injured by angry drivers who demanded to be let through the crowd before ramming into the protesters.

Students have been blocking the RTS headquarters in central Belgrade and remote studios in Kostunjak for 11 days demanding either the closure of the RTS or a new competition for members of the country’s supposedly independent Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM)..
