Dundee United vs Celtic match halted after tangerines thrown on pitch

The match between Dundee United and Celtic was paused after tangerines were thrown onto the pitch. Celtic fans protested against the increased ticket prices by throwing the fruit onto the pitch shortly after the 10th minute, which coincided with the display of a banner that read: "Enjoy the fruits of our labour." The match was delayed for two-and-a-half minutes as players and officials cleared the pitch.

A statement on Celtic's website regarding ticket prices read: "Following the announcement of ticket arrangements for our forthcoming Scottish Premiership match against Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday, April 26, we can confirm that we have raised a number of concerns with the SPFL ." Dundee United charged £42 and £40 for the upper and lower sections of the Jerry Kerr Stand, which typically accommodates away fans. The increase in ticket prices has been justified by Dundee United, who cited the need for additional policing and staff for the fixture.
