The defender’s first season in the blue and white has been marred by injuries which at one point kept him out of contention for eight months. Speaking to the this week, the 20-year-old said the situation had not been helped by the red card he received against Ayr United last month, which forced him to sit out several games and miss out on precious minutes on the park. But with the end of the season fast approaching, Corr hopes to contribute as the Ton aim to go out on a high note.
He said: “I played the game against Ayr and got sent off which didn’t help me. “Since then I’ve been waiting on my chance, coming on here and there for 10 or 15 minutes. “It was good to get on last weekend [against Airdrie] when the game was still quite end-to-end and I enjoyed it.
“I was pleased to hold on for the 1-0 win as well. “I feel as though I’m still trying to get up to speed.” While Corr, like the rest of the squad, are still focused on securing a strong finish to the season, he says his mind is also on the summer, and the opportunity to get himself back up to full strength.
He said: “I’ll have that seven-week period to work on myself and make sure I’m back fully fit for next season. “When I did my shoulder, I wanted to be back for around Christmas time, but then I did my knee. “After that I was just aiming to be fully fit for next season.
Getting game time in between is a bonus for me. “I’m just trying to make as much of an impact as I can. The boys have been playing very well so coming into the team is hard, but if I get my chance I’ll grab it with both hands.
” Corr recognises that Morton do not have control over whether they can secure a playoff place, but says that if they do it will be down to the work put in over the course of the season. He said: “In that dressing room we believe we deserve to be in that playoff spot. “We went on a good run, then we took that defeat, and had a few on the bounce we didn’t win, but the games were tight.
“If we just held on in a few games, we would have been right in there.”.
